Description:
The Psychology Foundation of Canada is offering one member of each Health & Physical Education department professional learning on the educational resource Stress Lessons for grades 9 – 12. This professional learning will support the teaching and development of social-emotional learning skills and mental health literacy with direct links to the Health and Physical Education curriculum. This professional learning is intended to assist secondary Health & Physical Education departments in implementing a resource which provides students with opportunities to develop skills and capacity for handling and harnessing stress, and enhancing their well-being. Participants who attend the training will receive a link to the training sessions offered via Zoom, one electronic resource of their choosing (either Stress Lessons 7 – 9 or Stress Lessons Grades 9 - 12), Health & Physical Education Curriculum connection document outlining the Stress Lessons curriculum connections by grade, and The Psychology Foundation will provide certification of completion, follow up and coaching as needed.

If you teach at multiple schools with other Heath & Physical Education teachers, please have a conversation between the HPE Specialist, FSL HPE Specialist and/or Core French Health colleagues to determine who will attend this training and will share their learning once completed.*

The Psychology Foundation of Canada is offering professional learning on the K – 6 resource Kids Have Stress Too! to support the teaching and development of the social-emotional learning skills and mental health literacy expectations in the updated 2019 Health & Physical Education curriculum. This professional learning is intended to assist Health & Physical Education teachers in implementing a resource which supports fostering coping, stress management and problem solving skills in their HPE classrooms. Teachers who attend the training will receive an electronic resource of their choosing (either KHST! Grades 1-3, KHST! Grades 4-6), curriculum connection document outlining the KHST! curriculum connections by grade for the 2019 Health & Physical Education Curriculum. The Psychology Foundation of Canada will provide certification of completion, follow up and coaching as needed.
