ND's God Squad:
Welcome to God Squad! We are the spiritual centre of our school – involved in so many aspects of the ND life, including:
- School Masses (Opening Mass, Thanksgiving Liturgy, Advent Liturgy, Ste. Marguerite Bourgeoys Feast Day Mass in January, Ash Wednesday Mass, Closing Mass in June).
- Various volunteer opportunities in the school (like Photo Day, Grade 8 Open House, Parent Teacher Interview Night, Staff Children’s Christmas Party and anything else that may come up in the school.
- The Thanksgiving Food Drive.
- The Christmas Basket drive.
- All of the fun Lenten Fundraising activities that happen in the school (beginning on Ash Wednesday).
- Big Sisters/Little Sisters – Formed to welcome students who are new to Canada (including our International students and all other students new to Canada and Notre Dame). We meet a couple of times a semester and organize fun activities (e.g. bowling, afternoon karaoke, relaxation colouring activities, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas celebrations, etc...)
- ND’s very own “Dance Off!” competition (a hip-hop competition for schools in our Board, that happens here at ND – God Squad provides all of the volunteer support roles to make sure that this event is one of the biggest and best of the school year).
- Volunteer opportunities within our Beach community and in the Greater Toronto Community, and we try to do as many street patrols as we can during the school year (a street patrol is an opportunity to go out into our downtown community and prepare care packages for the homeless and hungry members of the downtown community)!
If one or many of these sounds good to you, we welcome you to God Squad! Join the God Squad Google Classroom using the code: rcx7qh7
