Review the story with your child often, especially as it gets closer to your child’s first day of high school.
Read it with your child when they are calm.
Present the story to your child in a quiet area and read the story aloud.
Read through the story slowly. Point to visuals. Try to pause between each line, giving your child time to process the information.
Begin by introducing one topic at a time. Introduce another, once your child has had time to learn the first one.
