Quad 2 Announcement

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We thank you for your continued support. As a community, we are approaching the end of Quad #1 on Wednesday Nov. 18th, 2020 and will be entering Quad #2 on Thursday Nov. 19th, 2020.

On November 5, you received a TCDSB communication from our Director, Dr Brendan Browne, The letter indicated that, “To protect course offerings and student access to pathways necessary for graduation, we are introducing a pilot that will allow these 1500 secondary students who are currently in-person and requested to switch to virtual, to remain connected to their home school with a virtual option”.

Therefore, only those students who indicated a selection for Virtual School in Quad #2 by October 19 are able to join Loretto Abbey classes virtually in the mornings during their in-person class time (refer to the calendar attached for in-person attendance). We are not able to accommodate any further switches to the virtual option or vice versa at this time.

Please review the following information.

Week of November 16 - November 20, 2020:

· Monday, November 16th – last day of in-person classes for Cohort C (Quad 1)

· Tuesday Nov. 17th and Wednesday Nov. 18th, 2020 are reserved for exam days as well as final culminating tests/tasks

o Only those students whose classes are writing an exam or have final tests/assignments are to attend in person on these days.

o All other students and all cohorts must be available virtually on these days. Ask your daughter to check their Google classrooms for any final information from their teachers between 9:00 – 11:00 for Cohorts C &D and from 12:20 – 2:20 for Cohorts A & B

· Student Timetables for Quad 2

o We intend to distribute the student timetables starting on November 12 to the cohorts that are in-person on those days

o Because of the Quad model, some student may not receive their Quad 2 timetable in person. However, teachers will be inviting all students to join their online platform for Quad #2 classes beginning Monday Nov. 16th, 2020. Teachers will provide instructions to ensure students are ready to join their new class virtually on Thursday Nov. 19th, 2020.

o Students can also find their Quad 2 courses and the “Join” code on the following LAT Orientation Google Classroom sites:
