Requesting documents

Sometimes to complete an application for a scholarship a student may need supporting documentation from the school. The following guidelines should be used:

Requesting transcripts: please provide Mrs. Colavincenzo at least three days notice to process your transcript request. More time is needed if the school must mail the transcript. Please include any special instructions when requesting the transcript (placed in a sealed enveloped, for example).

References: please provide your reference 7 to 10 days notice to complete the reference. At the time of asking, please provide your reference with all pertinent information (what is the criteria for the reference?, to whom should the reference be addressed?, where does the reference need to be sent?, is there any pertinent information that should be included in the reference?, etc.). If an application requires you to provide the name of a teacher, principal, or guidance teacher on your application, please confirm with that individual before submitting.

Ontario student assistance program

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a financial aid program that can help you pay for college or university.

OSAP offers funding through:

  • grants: money you don’t have to pay back

  • a student loan: money you need to repay once you’re done school

You can go online to get an estimate of how much you qualify for, but you can’t apply until after you’ve confirmed your acceptance to post secondary.
