Welcome New Families

Bishop Macdonell Kindergarten

Welcome to Kindergarten at Bishop Macdonell School! We are very excited to meet you as we embark on this new educational journey. All of us, children and educators currently in Kindergarten at Bishop Macdonell, are eager to welcome you into our school family.

Please find on this page some helpful information for your beginning at Bishop Macdonell and with the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

When you are finished on this page, spend some time with our other pages on this blog. You will find explanations of our pedagogy, research that we use to inform our practice, the Kindergarten Program, and connections to learning into Grade One and Two.

Relations with the Land

EY Land Acknowledgement.mp4

As we are in relationship with the land we live and play on, we spend time outdoors playing and going for Wonder Walks. We have some questions for you:

What is your favourite place on the land?

Why is it special to you?

Sketchbooks

In your gift bag you will find a sketchbook.  Our sketchbooks are very special. They are a place to hold our ideas, imagine a story, record an observation of the world, or play with lines and shapes.

Artists, engineers, poets, mathematicians, scientists, writers, illustrators, architects, and many other people have a special book like this.

This little book is yours to begin your own collection of ideas.
