A Word from our President
Welcome! Thank you for supporting local community theatre, and thank you for following us to this new, incredible space. We are thrilled to have the ability and opportunity to bring this show to the stage after having to cancel this show due to the pandemic. All Shook Up feels like the perfect show to bring back as Spotlight continues to rebuild. This fun, lighthearted and upbeat show will leave you laughing, tapping your toes, and humming an Elvis tune as you leave the theatre. I am ever thankful that our Spotlight family continues to grow, expand, and support local talent.
All Shook Up brings a different spin to the Jukebox musical. Inspired loosely by Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and set to a variety of Elvis songs, All Shook Up takes place in 1955 over the course of 24 hours in a small Midwest American town ruled by a conservative mayor, who has banned all forms of fun. The town is thrown into a frenzy after the arrival of Chad, a good-looking, motorcycle-riding roustabout, who rides from town to town with a guitar on his back, blue suede shoes on his feet, and a song in his heart. With the talent of our amazing creative team, our cast brings this quick-witted show to the stage. This show is sure to leave you all shook up.
This show could not have come to be if it weren’t for the hard work of our dedicated creative team. Nik, Ethan, Jeff, Geoff and Hannah, there would be no show without your vision and hard work. We are so thrilled to have you on the Spotlight artistic team this year. You have all worked endlessly to breathe life into this spectacular performance. Our show wouldn’t be possible without you. To our band, thank you for accompanying us, and joining us in this show. Thanks to our lighting technician Hussein for making us look as great as we do. To our sound technician John Paul, thank you for helping us sound incredible. To our front of house and back stage crew, thank you for taking such great care of us and our patrons. To the staff at Alumnae theatre, thank you for entrusting us with this amazing space. To our wonderful cast both new and not-so-new to Spotlight, thank you for pouring your hearts into this production. I hope you feel proud to have put on such a wonderful production. A special thanks also goes to my fantastic team on our Board of Directors who work tirelessly and dedicate so many extra hours of their time to make sure our shows run smoothly. Cat, Bruce, Cares, Eric, Ambyr and Julianna thank you for your countless hours of work to help make sure this company remains one of the best companies to be a part of. Spotlight has grown and continues to grow into a beautiful family of artists. We'd all be lost without your efforts.
A most important thank you is extended to you, our audience, for your continued support of Spotlight Musical Productions. We are very fortunate to have the privilege to perform for you. Thank you for your patronage, and for allowing us to keep doing what we love. We couldn’t put on our shows without you. We sincerely hope you enjoy this labour of hunk-a hunk-a burning love.
Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
