Accelerated Reader
This year students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade will be trekking out on a new adventure with Accelerated Reader. After students traverse the pages of books and explore adventures unknown, they will test their knowledge, utilizing Renaissance’s Accelerated Reader Program.
Who - Students in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade
What - New and improved Rewards
When - Starts September 7th! Each challenge lasts a full grading period and a new challenge
begins each 9 weeks.
Why - To develop and establish lifelong readers and to encourage our students to explore
different genres of books.
How - After reading, students test on the books they have read. Each book helps them to work towards completing their challenge. Students will then be compensated with rewards for their achievements.
9 Week Rewards
Students will be rewarded at the end of each grading period if they meet their goals for AR and The Great Genre Challenge.

Elementary students (K-5) will participate in:
this can be easily completed in tandem with Accelerated Reader. If you are doing one, why not get credit for both?!?! Readers will be given a short checklist of specific book genres that must be fulfilled each 9 weeks. After completing each part of their challenge and proving their book savvy, students will be compensated with rewards like Fayetteville has never seen before. (This 9 weeks' challenge is at the bottom of this page.)
