Storytelling for Mathematics Learning and Engagement

Jacob Lawrence, 'In the North the Negro had more educational opportunities', from The Migration Series.

The sample videos below are excerpts from hour-long interviews conducted with mathematicians participating in the NSF funded Storytelling for Mathematics Learning and Engagement project, led by Drs. Erica Walker (Teachers College, Columbia University) and Robin Wilson (Loyola Marymount University) in collaboration with Amplify, our curriculum partner.  In general the videos are meant to (1) introduce the viewer to a real-life mathematician; (2) connect to elementary/secondary (grades 3-8) mathematics curriculum; and (3) provide advice to teachers/students about mathematics teaching and/or learning.

If you watch one of the videos below, please respond to our survey to share feedback that will help us develop future digital materials. Thank you!
