Every year we celebrate Pi Day (March 14th - 3.14) in a BIG way in the 7th grade. After a few days of focusing on circles we spend the day enjoying pie, reciting as many memorized digits of the number as we an, and doing various pi centered activities. Here are some resources. This year we will celebrate on FRIDAY MARCH 13th since the actual day is not a school day.
The number Pi is found by dividing the circumference of ANY circle by its diameter.
To kick things off, listen to this Pi Day song that my daughter "wrote" for me using AI in 2025. My husband surprised me by recording a sound only version featuring him singing and playing the piano. I'm working to persuade him to film it a video version.
