After School Etiquette
All children staying after school should be accompanied by an adult who is supervising them whilst they are playing. The area they can play in is the slide area & the garden at the back.
If they need to go to the toilet, their adult should go with them but wait outside the toilet whilst they go in. Children with no secondary siblings can stay until 3pm.
If children are waiting for a secondary sibling, they can stay until 3:30pm or 4:30pm if they have had a club (they should not be waiting at school from 2:30pm to 4:30pm as this is too long).
There is still an option for siblings to wait in the library supervised by a member of staff until 3:30pm and they should not go out in the play area unless they have an adult accompanying them.

This week in English we will be focusing on our Oracy skills. Looking at pitch, tone and intonation as well as looking at our acting skills. We will be keeping an actor's journal of what we have learnt and use this as a reference for future speaking, listening and performing activities. We will be looking at the costume designer Colleen Atwood and designing our own costumes for our upcoming production.

We will be looking at perimeter next week and applying our measuring skills that we have been using this week to work out the perimeter of straight-edged, two-dimensional shapes.
Computing
We will be looking at layout of advertisements and posters and begin to design posters and adverts for our upcoming production using adobe spark . We will be using our previously learnt skills of how to change font, background and adding images .
PSHE
We will be discussing our families, how they are important to us and what impact they have on our lives and the different relationships within our families (brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, cousins, aunts, uncles etc).
Term 3 Week 2
English and IPC ( Peter Pan)
This week we will be continuing our work on Peter Pan and begin to set some scenes. We will be looking at stage directions and how these help designers and directors come up with a vision for the production. We will be creating mood boards for the scenes we are designing and beginning to think about what the set will look like. We will also be comparing how setting descriptions are written for both theatre ( stage directions) and narrative text( storybooks) and have a go at writing some of our own stage directions.

In maths we will be continuing our work on measuring lengths and look at solving porblems and comparing lengths and units of measure.
Term 2 Week 9

We will be applying our knowledge of multiplying and dividing two-digit numbers to solve word problems.
IPC (International Primary Curriculum)
This week we will be collecting all the data from our science investigations and getting ready to present them to our alien friend so she knows how to grow human food for her space hotel. We will also be doing some observation pastel drawings of fruit to send her so she knows what healthy specimens look like.
ICT (Computing)
In computing, we will designing our own branched databases using our knowledge of the attributes of plants, ready to make and present them to Zinnia, our friendly alien, at the end of the topic.
Term 2 Week 6
English
We will be exploring different verb forms this week as we read more of The Tin Forest as well as using our inference and prediction reading skills.
In spelling, we will be looking at 'rebellious adverbs' that do not follow the rules already learnt. You will find the spellings on Seesaw to practise.
Maths
We will be continuing with our further multiplication and division, moving into dividing 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers and looking at what method we use for this.
IPC (International Primary Curriculum)
After receiving a message from Zinnia - an Alien hoping to open an earthling hotel - last week, we will be continuing to do some research for her by monitoring our investigations we set up last week to find out what helps plants grow strong and healthy. We will be looking at how plants reproduce and exploring the different parts and functions of plants so we can help Zinnia to make, keep and maintain her own edible plants on Planet Dock- 5.
ICT (Computing)
In computing, we will continue to develop understanding of ordering objects/images in a branching database structure. The children will learn how to use an online database tool to arrange objects into a branching database, and will create their own questions with yes/no answers.
Term 2 Week 5
English
We will start our new book The Tin Forest next week - exciting! We will be looking at writing persuasive sentences, making inferences and using technical verbs.
Maths
This week we will be moving onto further multiplication, which will be multiplying 2-digit numbers by a 1-digit number.
IPC ( International Primary Curriculum)
As we begin our new topic Let's Plant It, we will be using what we have learned about plants on our expedition to investigate what plants need to grow and survive.
ICT
In ICT we are looking at branching databases, this week we will be looking at creating our own branching databases separating objects into groups i.e. does it fly? Does it have wheels? And then getting results based on these answers.
