Here you will find updates on the range of different things our KS3 Aspiring Leaders have been doing whilst in school. It showcases all sorts of different events, community work and helping out around the school.
Last week, we as a whole school launched and finished with one of our biggest events, Foodfest, which was a very big success. All year groups had worked collaboratively with their primary partners to make their stall even better through the 3-4 weeks leading up to Foodfest. Throughout the weeks leading up to the food fest, all mentor groups and year groups worked hard to contribute to the success of the food fest by building up their stalls with cultural activities, foods and cultural themed challenges. We raised, as a school, an incredible 304,000NPR that will be used for our community partners projects. Well done to all of our Aspiring Leaders for leading in their mentor groups to get the best out of each students!

On Tuesday, December 5th, our school hosted the secondary winter showcase, a spectacular event featuring exceptional performances by students from Year 7 to Year 13. This year's Winter Showcase was a true delight, enhanced by a distinctive staging approach placing the audience on the stage, fostering creativity and a unique experience. The event was expertly hosted by Mateo, a charismatic Year 9 student who served as the MC. The effort put in by our dedicated teachers and staff contributed to the overall success of the showcase, and the talents displayed by TBS pupils were nothing short of outstanding, captivating the audience and leaving a lasting impression. As we bid farewell to 2023, the Winter Showcase stands as a testament to our school community's collective efforts and artistic prowess, creating cherished memories for all involved.

The practice hours and hard work put in by the students and music staff for the past few months, could be seen in the result. Many talented singers volunteered to perform in the spotlight which was great to see. The highlight of the event arguably, was when we ended the evening singing last christmas and everyone kept going. The winter concert was a fun and memorable experience for all that were present. We hope you enjoyed it and were motivated to be more musical!

KS3 Aspiring leaders visit Down Syndrome Society Nepal 23/24
My experience with DSSN was one I enjoyed a lot. On the 19th of march I went to their learning centre to meet and talk with them and it was a fun experience. I got to meet people from last year and I'm glad they remembered me. It was a great feeling to make these people feel special and less isolated from people their age and younger. The best part for me was meeting Ankit again who was someone I spent more time with last year, this year he was also present, he also remembered me so I feel like that means I was a present figure in their lives, and hopefully someone they will remember as a good friend. Spring concert 23/24
Like every time before, this Spring Concert was truly phenomenal. This concert had everything from high-speed dance routines to piano solos to the whole KS3 choir. A highlight was the KS3 choir's "Africa", starring beat-boxing and a unique body percussion routine. If you are interested in performing during the next performance, practice, and stay tuned, as we welcome all to showcase your musical talent.

On the 10th of April, Aspiring leaders had a chance to help out at the primary sports day. The primary kids had a great day participating in different field events like Javelin, Shot Put etc and sports like football. The Aspiring leaders helped the events by collecting, measuring, and recording data during the field events. We, as Aspiring leaders also set up equipment and managed scoreboards during the sports events. Being part of the exciting event made us feel included. The primary student's enthusiasm motivated us to be more engaged towards these events.
