My first Inquiry of they year went very good. I think this was because I researched a topic that really interests me which was divison one basketball (highest level of college basketball in America). It was fun learning more about the topic compared to other inquires where they had a set topic.
The Career Inquiry was really useful as it made me aware of the amount of pathways basketball can lead me to, like playing overseas, in the nz nbl, coaching, and many other pathways. It also taught me how hard I have to work to really go pro in basketball because of al the blogs i read about, and videos I watched.
How do I feel about my second year of Inquiry now that I’ve spent 4 weeks in it? Well I have to say inquiry is going good because I like the idea of independent learning instead of having a teacher telling us what to do all the time. Its also very creative like the topics we do are different to mainstream and are way more interesting.
It was a different start for me this year because I already knew what the inquiry programe was like because of last year, and I came into this year more confident talking infront of others, and improving my reading and writing everyday.
One of my goals was to be consistent with my work by working on this goal it helped me to improve my learning because it taught me to keep on working even if I'm bored of the topic because if I stop working I wont be learning anything.
The goal I did the best with was respect the reason it went so well was because i respected my friends opions about my inquiry and it helped my inquiry become more interesting, well designed, and more entertaining overall. I also took the feedback people gave me at the end of the inqury and know what to work on for next time.
I was a bit frustrated with how one goal went because I struggled staying focused during the boring times of the inquiry because I thought I already knew lots about the topic before the inquiry.
Next time I will remember why I chose the inquiry this will help me because i could get motivated and re-fcous back on my inquiry and work tthrough the rest.
