In 1933 my family emigrated from hawaiki to New Zealand. They were part of a huge wave of migration from to New Zealand. They left because of tuputupu My ancestors chose New Zealand because of the many opportunities that it offered. This inquiry looks at the push and pull factors that influenced my ancestors and many others to leave their homeland and move to the small island nation at the bottom of the South Pacific.

Tuputupu wanted to explore around the world he travelled in a waka and he sailed out to sea tuputupu wanted to discover about a new land that no one had threw about his journey he leave hawaiki to explore being around and find new land to relocated after all that he told his family that he be back in hawaii soon

When someone was near death they were often brought a special food as a last meal or water from a favourite spring water.tuputupu went because there wasn't enough room on the land for everyone so he went off for a journey

I think the most important push factor was having enough food cause i would of tried to catch fish or grabs then they went in group to explore the island
