Screening Request

So you are concerned with a Student's speech/language skills. What's next?

Screening Request

    • This is the first step in advocating for your student. Complete the Speech-Language Screening request form at the bottom of this page. Your student's information will be sent directly to the SLP along with your concerns.

What happens after that?

    • Your student will be pulled out and screened by an SLP or SLP-Assistant.

      • If your student PASSES the screening, you will be notified by email, phone, or face to face contact.

      • If your student FAILS the screening, they will begin the process of Speech RTI.

        • Speech RTI will be completed by the classroom teacher with the child's progress being monitored regularly by the SLP. If a student makes adequate progress, they will continue with RTI until all concerns are addressed and the student is ready to exit.

        • If a student does not show progress or growth in the RTI process, they are referred to the special education department for a speech and/or language evaluation.
