Screening Request
So you are concerned with a Student's speech/language skills. What's next?
Screening Request
This is the first step in advocating for your student. Complete the Speech-Language Screening request form at the bottom of this page. Your student's information will be sent directly to the SLP along with your concerns.
What happens after that?
Your student will be pulled out and screened by an SLP or SLP-Assistant.
If your student PASSES the screening, you will be notified by email, phone, or face to face contact.
If your student FAILS the screening, they will begin the process of Speech RTI.
Speech RTI will be completed by the classroom teacher with the child's progress being monitored regularly by the SLP. If a student makes adequate progress, they will continue with RTI until all concerns are addressed and the student is ready to exit.
If a student does not show progress or growth in the RTI process, they are referred to the special education department for a speech and/or language evaluation.
