Tawanai EnergyTech Private Limited was founded in 2017 as a dedicated service provider for all aspects of a windfarm, from micro-siting to commissioning. Over the years, having worked for several clients at home and abroad, Tawanai has established itself as a reliable, objective, and data-driven consultancy. Whilst acing the traditional market, Tawanai is also leveraging new technologies involving Data Analytics, GIS, Optimization Algorithms and Cloud Solutions for wind energy assets. Tawanai has launched a proprietary Wind Turbine Data Analysis Software - SCADA Grappler in 2021.

Use of Gaussian Wake Model validated against Large Eddy Simulation data. Uses principles of conservation of mass and momentum which form the basis of computational fluid dynamics.
Unlike standard non-cfd flow models, our wind flow model is highly data intensive and its semblance with fluid dynamics based analysis has been internally validated. Furthermore, based on the complexity of terrain we are able to capture data at finer resolutions for greater accuracy.
Our Orographic analysis schedule is extremely useful for purposes of micro-siting. By identifying locations with the least orographic resistance, we are able to identify the best locations in a given region.
Intra and Inter windfarm location optimization. We are able to simulate the wake model at different permutations and combinations of the layout in order to maximise both internal and external array efficiency.
Does not assume a wind-speed distribution, rather simulates for each timestamp.
10/15/60 minutely Gross and Net generation figures for each wind turbine. Hourly P75 time-series for each WTG in a proposed windfarm can be extracted and the output can be combined with solar assessments for a Wind-Solar Hybrid analysis.
For long-term correction, our software makes use of a customized gradiant boosting regressor to model the relationship between several weather parameters. Once a strong correlation at hourly levels is established on Test Data, we use the trained model to predict 10-20 year wind speeds at hourly levels. As a standard, we ensure that the model achieve an R-square value of at least 80% on Test data.
