Welcome to Year Ten English

English is a compulsory subject for all Year 9 to Year 12 students and most students continue to Year 13.

The English programme is varied and interesting. Our Year 10 programmme aims to build on the skills and knowledge

Taupo-nui-a-Tia's English Department uses the New Zealand National Curriculum to assess our student's progress in the following strands:

Making meaning (listening, reading and viewing)

Creating meaning for yourself and others (speaking, writing and presenting)

Our students are given clear next steps to help them progress in their English studies.
