Snow Day: February 13
Hello Taunton Public Schools Community,
There will be no school TODAY, TUESDAY, February 13. The current forecast indicates there will be impactful snow in our area. The closure applies to all schools, including Taunton Alternative High School and Taunton Public Virtual Academy. The Extended Day Program is also closed TODAY, TUESDAY, February 13.
This is our first SNOW DAY and it will be made up in June. Our new last day of school is June 18.

Good Morning TPVA students and Families!
I hope this email finds you well. I have attached an event flier regarding a wonderful opportunity to spread love to our Benjamins Fund Valentine child of 2024, Tijon Webster!
Tijon was born with a rare disease called Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration (PKAN). It is a rare disorder characterized by progressive extrapyramidal dysfunction and dementia. Tijon's parents had no idea he had the disease until four years ago. Before that, he walked fine, rode his bike and ran around just fine. They then began to notice decreases in his walking, eating, struggling to open things and getting dressed.
Tijon has lost most ability to walk and has lost 35% of his vision. He could someday lose his ability to talk as well. He now has a g-tube and can have difficulty chewing foods (although, since getting his nutrients from his g-tube, he greatly enjoys cookies, which are on his Amazon wish list.. see below). Tijon recently got a wheelchair and mom is hoping she can raise funds toward a wheelchair van, as Tijon has many medical appointments, weekly. Please consider taking the time to send him a Valentine's Day card, donate and/or send him a present from his Amazon Wishlist!

Semester two family orientation
We are hosting our Semester Two Family Orientation on Wednesday, January 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at TPVA located at 120 Cohannet Street.
Attendance is required for all families and students joining us for the semester two. During this important orientation, you'll learn about TPVA's mission, school policies and expectations, student schedules, how to access food and nursing services, and how to get support and communicate with us. You'll also receive instructions about how to log into our online class platform Imagine/Edgenuity. If you are unable to attend, please let us know by calling 508-844-5868.

I'm pleased to officially announce, that we won FIRST PLACE in the scarecrow contest! Thank you to all students who participated and put in the hardwork to make this happen. I will be arranging a pizza party to celebrate our victory. I will keep you updated with a date and time! GO TPVA !!!!!!

I have attached the Homecoming permission slip below. This event will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 in the Taunton High School Field House from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Please return permission slip to Mrs. Rodrigues by November 9th. Students must wait for approval by Mrs. Rodrigues, before purchasing a ticket! Please let me know if you have any questions.
