This week, students will continue reading The Outsiders. They will read chapters 7 and 8. The audiobook is available on Google Classroom. Students will have a quiz over chapters 5-8 on Friday, Feb. 6th. 

This week in ELA, students are learning about point of view, which means identifying who is telling the story and how that perspective shapes what the reader knows and understands. Students will have an assessment over this reading skill on Friday, Feb. 13th. 

Students will learn how to recognize and correct vague pronoun references. Vague pronouns are words like it, they, this, that, he, she, and them that do not clearly refer to a specific noun (antecedent), causing confusion about who or what is being discussed.  Students will be assessed over vague pronouns on Thursday, Feb. 12th.

We will review the basic types of economic systems before examining the economy of Canada. This will include gross domestic product, standard of living, literacy rate, specialization and trade, trade barriers, and the North American Free Trade Agreement/United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement.
