A solar + wind turbine installation that can be placed on the balcony. It provides outstanding advantages such as portable, ease of maintenance and low installation cost while compared with the typical rooftop installation. To enhance the capability of the system to harvest maximum amount of energy, solar tracking system is implemented. The construction of the tracking system is simple and built at low cost, it does not involve any coding skill, but just 4 mini solar panels and 1 motor, that is all needed. The wind turbine is also added with more bearings to keep the rotation smooth from the friction with the pole's surface. Users are free to work or chill there because it is attached to a table where there is power source bring supplied from the solar panel and wind turbine. They can power up their electrical devices such as laptop, handphone and many more devices there. Therefore, it serves multifunctional feature too.

Clean energy has been getting more attention from society, more and more people willing to know what the source of energy generating from. The usage of clean energy is increasing to replace the old modern energy. However, there are still not many people who use clean energy in the housing area, due to lack of choice on a suitable system for the housing. In this project, there is a combination of solar and wind turbine systems, which generate renewable energy from two sources, sun and wind. The project aims to design a solar and wind turbine generator for small-scale home usage, which is able to be installed on the balcony.

Nowadays, solar energy and wind energy is popular renewable energy in the world. Therefore, many type of solar and wind energy product in market. Most of the solar energy and wind energy products are standalone system which efficiency of generate electrical will affect by their disadvantages. For example, solar panel could not generate electrical energy during night time or cloudy day. Efficiency of wind turbine to generate electrical energy also affect by the varying wind speed. Thus, current product available for install at balcony is limited to low power and only can provide low light intensity. This project presents the design of solar and wind turbine generator system which scalable for balcony installation and can power 300lx light system for 12 hours

The project aims to produce a small scale solar and wind hybrid system that can provides at least 300 lux of lighting for 12 hours continuously. In addition to that, the system should also be able to deliver different output power based on the requirements as well as being recharged via multiple input. Ideally, the proposed system should also be economically reasonable and worth the investment. The suggested price range of the system should be around RM500. Since the hybrid system is intended to be small scale, the dimensions of the wind turbine are limited to (1.5 x 0.5 x 0.5) m^3. In this capstone project, we are mostly concern about improving the design of the wind turbine based on literature reviews and simulations to achieve a higher efficiency of the wind turbine.

The purpose of this capstone project is to provide a comprehensive review of all aspects of solar and wind turbine generator. This paper discusses pre-feasibility analysis, optimized sizing, modeling, control aspects, and reliability issues and presents the application of evolutionary techniques and game theory to hybrid renewable energy. The economic aspects of these renewable energy technologies are expected to bring them into the growing power generation capacity of developing countries. These hybrid energy systems are becoming increasingly popular for power generation applications in remote areas due to advances in renewable energy technology and sharp increases in the price of petroleum products. Research and development in solar and wind renewable energy technologies needs to continue to improve their performance, build technologies that can accurately predict their output, and integrate them reliably with other traditional sources of power generation. These developments have the potential to increase the economic attractiveness and user acceptance of such systems.

In order to promote sustainable energy, a power generation speed bump is developed to provide an alternative way to generate electricity in a cleaner way. This energy is created by harvesting the kinetic energy from the motion of vehicles on the roads. The power generation speed bump will operate when there is a vehicle crossing to the rubber speed bump. When the vehicles cross the speed bump, it gives a weight to the speed bump and it will generate electricity and also store the energy in a capacitor for future use. A demo on the speed bump from jumping and car crossing is taken. The voltage generated from these two demonstrations have been recorded.
