Programme Overview:
The Doctor of Philosophy in Education is a research-focused programme that prepares candidates to contribute new knowledge and innovative practices to the field of education. The programme develops advanced expertise in educational theory, research design, and data analysis, enabling candidates to investigate complex issues and generate impactful solutions for contemporary educational challenges.
Through structured research training, close supervision and progressive scholarly development, candidates build strong competencies in critical inquiry, independent research, digital and analytical skills, and academic communication. The programme emphasises ethical practice, responsible leadership, and lifelong learning, ensuring graduates are equipped for roles in academia, research institutions, educational organisations and policy environments.
Graduates will emerge as reflective and independent researchers who can advance educational thinking, shape professional practice and contribute meaningfully to the ongoing development of the education discipline.

Minimum Entry Requirements
A Master’s degree in education field (Level 7, Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) OR
A Master’s degree (non-education) must undergo prerequisite courses OR
Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government as equivalent to the above requirements.
