( The Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India has notified the Code on Wages, 2019 (the "Code") on August 8, 2019, which seeks to amend and consolidate the laws relating to wages and bonus and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, and subsumes the provisions of the Payment of Wages Act, 1936 ("Payment of Wages Act"), the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 ("Minimum Wages Act"), the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 ("Payment of Bonus Act") and the Equal Remuneration Act, 1976 ("Equal Remuneration Act"). The Central Government has not still notified the aforesaid Code on Wages,2019.

Mr. Gupta left his private sector job in 2003 and started his own practice in the area of Labour Laws. Since then Mr. Gupta has been practicing in the Supreme Court, High Court(s), Employees’ Provident Fund Appellate Tribunal, New Delhi , Bangalore and Central Government Industrial Tribunal etc. . Apart from this, he is also giving expert guidance and opinion to various employer(s)/ establishment(s) /companies on the issue related to the Employees’ Provident Fund & Misc. Provisions Act, 1952 , Employees’ State Insurance Act,1948 and other Labour Laws. His opinion has helped various companies in re-structuring and streamlining of the basic-wages structure of their employees i.e. Cost to the Company (CTC).
