My name is Mrs. Beveridge and this will be my 123th year working at Tantasqua. I haven't always wanted to be a teacher, but in some capacity I always have been one. Because of this, I am not surprised that I eventually made a career of it! I am the oldest of four siblings and I grew up loving horses and riding. I originally wanted to open up my own equestrian facility for lessons and boarding and was well on my way there. I have been a horseback riding instructor since I was 18, and still do it on the side (although mostly I am now just giving lessons to my daughter, Reagan on my old lesson pony, Macaroni). New England winters foiled my plans to run my own business, so I decided to make a career out of my second favorite field: history. After taking a few education courses in college I realized that I had a calling to public speaking and to kids in general, and I've been hooked ever since! Working at Tantasqua Jr. High was my dream job coming out of college, and I was very lucky to have been hired.
I live in Leicester with my husband (Mr. Beveridge, who you will have for physical education or history classes over at the high school in a few years), and my two kids Landon and Reagan. My family also includes two hound dogs; Lucky and Teddy, and a cat named BoBo.
In my free time you will find me hiking with my dogs, snowshoeing and skiing in the winter, or reading books on all different topics. I run the Snowshoe/Hiking Club and work with Mrs. Korch to run the Ski Club here at the Jr. High! My favorite food is sushi and my favorite season is the winter. A fun fact about me is that I was born without the sense of smell! There really doesn't seem to be a reason for it- I just have never been able to smell anything.
So, enough about me. I can't wait to learn all about you!
