Fair Information
Students in 5th and 7th grade at the Lab School will participate in a school based Social Studies Fair is tentatively scheduled for the month of December. The fair will be a competition based format with the ultimate goal of obtaining a spot in Southeastern Louisiana University's Region VII Fair. The Regional Fair date has not be determined as of yet.
Project Format
SLU Lab School Social Studies Fair participants will adhere to the guidelines for the Regional Fair which are shown below. Students are encouraged to select projects that are unique and interesting to them. It is important to find something that is intriguing to learn about so that the student is engaged in their research. Students may or may not have designated time in class to complete research, but ALL work on the display boards will be done at home.
Students should follow all guidelines spelled out in the bulletin below and adhere to all deadlines.
Social Studies Fair Deadlines
Students must submit their final project topic and title for approval by TBD.
Identify three different sources to use for their project research (internet, book, interview, documentary, etc) - TBD.
Rough draft of project paper due TBD.
Rough draft of project board design done on 11x17 paper (provided by teacher) due TBD.
The final copy of the Social Studies Fair report with Bibliography submitted to Google Classroom TBD
Final project and board due at fair on TBD.
