Welcome! My name is Mrs. Jean Williams. I'm excited you'll be joining us this year to learn more in-depth content about nine different engineering fields. This course is taught in conjunction with the Engineering Department at LSU and counts as a TOPS University Credit for science. I have developed a Google site for each unit of this course which will be posted for you to access as we approach each section. Each Google site will be used as the platform to find content instruction and assignments. If you have to miss a day of class for any reason, you will find all of the content and assignment directions on these google sites. Additional videos will be added to these sites to help with the completion of projects, as needed. Each Google Site for this course is designed to highlight a different lesson or topic area with each tab along the top menu bar. You should often expect each tab to contain the following:

- A bell ringer and exit ticket
- The bell ringer is meant to get you thinking about the lesson topic and is graded solely based on if you complete it. The exit ticket is graded specific to the information covered in that lesson.
- Lecture content directed by Mrs. Williams with input from LSU.
- Directions for in-class mini-activities and at least one follow-up assignment per unit to review important content.
Each unit will also include an overall group project that focuses on the engineering field being covered. Some examples include: a hydraulic bridge, an LED lamp, and a working thermostat.

- Required Engineering Notebook reflection entries
- One day of homework to follow up on lecture content.
- At least one group activity per unit with a brief lab write-up.
- Additional videos to help with any content information or to help you complete the overall unit project.
- A study guide to help you prepare for each end-of-Unit exit test.
