Robotics

Welcome! I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with you again this year. The focus of this course will be to take a deeper dive into the design and development of engineering systems and mechanics as it relates to different fields of engineering including FIRST Robotics. I have developed a series of Google Sites to cover a variety of topics throughout this course. These sites will serve as our primary platform for this class while HHMS is full virtual. Additional videos will be added to help with the completion of projects, as needed. These sites will still be maintained once we are able to return to meeting face-to-face, as it will remain the platform to find all of your assignments electronically.

Please make sure to read over the course outline and let me know if you have any questions. Your first assignment (see tab above) is due by Monday, August 24.

Each Google Site for this course is designed to highlight a different lesson or topic area with each tab along the top menu bar. You should expect each tab to contain the following:

  • A bell ringer and exit ticket is assigned to each tab.

  • The bell ringer is meant to get you thinking about the lesson topic and is graded solely based on if you complete it. The exit ticket is graded specific to the information covered in that lesson.

  • A lecture with content directed by Mrs. Williams

  • A potential lesson mini-activity or follow-up assignment to practice a particular skill covered in the lesson.

Each Full Unit Will Also Contain

  • Virtual Engineering Notebook entries

  • At least one group activity per unit with a lab write-up

  • Additional videos to help with any content information or to help you complete a project

  • A study guide to help you prepare for each end-of-Unit test
