Welcome to Mrs. Robbins's Beginning Choir class!

Class Description

Beginning Choir is a non-auditioned mixed choir consisting of students who have either never been in choir, or are new to HHMS. Students will be given the opportunity to learn music in a variety of styles and perform what has been practiced at least once a semester.  They will be taught basic music theory, sight-reading, rhythmic exercises, vocal technique, concert etiquette, and vocal repertoire containing two to three parts.

About Me

I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education. I am a soprano vocalist, pianist, and guitarist, and have experience teaching students of all ages. I also have a little baby boy who is now one year old! His name is William ("Billy") Cail Robbins VI.

Although I am an American citizen, I grew up as a missionary in several European countries my whole life, and therefore bring many unique experiences to the table as a teacher. It has enabled me to better understand students of many different backgrounds and has provided me with an inspiration to teach in new, exciting ways. I look forward to continuing into my fifth year as the Choir and Piano teacher at Hammond High Magnet School!
