Green Gables Rooms for Rent

Green Gables rooms are available to women 18 years of age or older.
Rooms are available from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
There are 4 second floor bedrooms with 2 twin beds and 1 second floor bedroom with 1 twin bed, for a total of 5 guest rooms.
Double occupancy is $95/night and single occupancy is $75/night.
A shared bathroom, kitchenette and sitting area are on second floor.
Free wi-fi for guests.
Please bring your own linens to your freshly cleaned room.
Green Gables is a smoke-free and pet-free guest house.
Parking lots are available inside and outside the Lakeside gates.
Please note that Lakeside's gate fees are in addition to the Green Gables room rental rates.

A Brief History of Green Gables

1873 - The Lakeside Company, now Lakeside Chautauqua, is founded on the shores of Lake Erie.

1883 - Green Gables, a classic Steamboat Gothic cottage, is built on a premium lot on Lakeside's Central Park, and then purchased by Mary Cook of Norwalk, Ohio.

1893 - Mary Cook leaves for Philadelpdia to start her medical practice and signs Green Gables over to her sister, Alice, who then begins to operate Green Gables as a boarding house.

1928 - Alice sells Green Gables to Lakeside, and the "Grand Old Lady" on the park becomes the official home of the newly established Lakeside Women's Club.

1941 - The Lakeside Women's Club opens the library at Green Gables. More than 80 years later, the library continues to serve the Lakeside community.

1944 - The Lakeside Women's Club opens Green Gables to in-season room rentals to women. The Lakeside Women's Club mission of hospitality continues to this day.
