We, Standing Committee on Geotechnical Instrumentation and Modeling (AKG60), are announcing our Call for Papers for a session on "Field Instrumentation Applications: Lessons Learned, Best Practices and Challenges" for 102nd TRB Annual Meeting in 2023. This session is Co-Sponsored by the Standing Committee on Mechanics and Drainage of Saturated and Unsaturated Geomaterials (AKG40), Standing Committee on Transportation Earthworks (AKG50), Standing Committee on Geosynthetics (AKG80), and Standing Committee on Stabilization of Geomaterials and Recycled Materials (AKG90). Paper Submission is open from June 1 to August 1, 2022. More details regarding the Call for Papers can be found at https://annualmeeting.mytrb.org/CallForPapers/Details/846
The session will include technical papers and invited presentations in the area but is not limited to the evaluation of emerging technologies, acquisition and storage of large data, selection/installation of sensors and interpretation data, planning/designing of instrumentation systems, instrumentation best practices/challenges faced, cutting edge instrumentation for fundamental understanding.
We seek technical papers and presentations from practitioners, owners/agencies, and researchers to share their experience and knowledge. Practical insights illustrated by case histories of successful solutions and unsuccessful approaches are encouraged.
We would like to thank Xingwei Chen and Margarita Ordaz for leading the effort in planning the session. If you have any queries, feel free to contact Xingwei.Chen@la.gov
