The Texas Center for Climate Studies (TCCS) will convene a meeting focusing on high-resolution modeling of the Earth system. Although the current generation of climate models has demonstrated high fidelity in simulating and projecting global temperature change, these models show large uncertainties when it comes to questions concerning how rising global temperatures will impact local weather conditions. This is because the resolution (~100 km) at which the majority of climate models simulate the climate is not fine enough to resolve small-scale regional features. Modeling at small scales is a challenge that will be the focus of this meeting. We are interested in
discussion of the future of high-resolution modeling as well as analysis of existing high-resolution model runs, particularly those produced by an international collaboration over the last few years involving TAMU and NCAR.

Traveling to College Station: You can fly directly into College Station (CLL) on American Airlines or fly almost any airline into Austin-Bergstrom Airport (AUS) or Houston's Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Both Austin and Houston airports are about a 90-minute drive from campus. You can rent a car or take a shuttle. For people driving to campus, there is parking at the hotel.
