Issac was raised in the Middle East and has focused his research interests in the region. He is specializing in carbonate sedimentology, diagenesis, and sequence stratigraphy. As part of his Ph.D. research in Cretaceous outcrops in Oman, he is looking for ways to incorporate digital image analysis using multiple modalities (SEM, confocal microscopy and CT) to accurately characterize micro-porosity and micro-crystalline textures.
