The Rouzer Lab will open at Texas A&M University in January 2027. We are recruiting doctoral students for Fall 2027 and will announce research staff opportunities as positions become available.

Doctoral Training Pathways

Students may pursue doctoral training in the lab through either of two programs. Both pathways are equally available, and students may apply to both programs. Applicants should identify Dr. Siara Rouzer and/or the Rouzer IDEAL Lab in their application materials. 

Psychology PhD with a concentration in Behavioral and Cellular Neuroscience 

Training in behavioral neuroscience through the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences.

Interdisciplinary Neuroscience PhD

Interdisciplinary neuroscience training through the Texas A&M Institute for Neuroscience.

Prospective PhD Students

Our lab is recruiting doctoral students interested in understanding how prenatal and parental substance exposures influence brain development, behavior, and health across the lifespan. Our work integrates behavioral neuroscience, molecular and transcriptomic approaches, electrophysiology, and analysis of existing human datasets.

Applicants are not expected to arrive with experience in every method used by the lab. We are looking for students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, thoughtful engagement with the research, reliability, and a willingness to develop new skills.
