Accepting graduate students for: Fall 2026

Graduate students seeking a PhD can join the lab via two programs at A&M:

Psychology — Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, area of Behavioral & Cellular Neuroscience (BCN)

Neuroscience — Texas A&M Institute for Neuroscience interdisciplinary program (TAMIN)

Unfortunately, we are NOT accepting new undergraduate research students for: Summer and/or Fall 2026 (we are already filled). Please check back in the fall for availability of research spots for Spring 2027.

Undergraduate students that apply and are accepted to become a research assistant in the lab can earn credit via either:

Psychology (PBSI 491)

Neuroscience (NRSC 491)

Undergraduate students interested in applying to the lab need to complete an  application. Download the application form before filling it out to ensure that your information is saved properly (i.e., save the PDF to your computer and then open it using Adobe, not a web browser). Check that you meet the minimum requirements on the application, fill in the form, and then email the completed PDF to rachelsmithlab@gmail.com.

We will review applications and conduct interviews around registration time.
