Graphical communication in the civil engineering design process, introduction to industry standard software, construction documents and contract drawings in civil engineering applications, data analysis, and introduction to project visualization
(Click on the buttons below for links to my various projects that I worked on.)
Introduction to AutoCAD and Civil3D
Objective: Mastery basic ACAD Commands. Draw a T of A&M using ortho.
Objective: Develop a Template File with common Styles, Fonts, Layouts to scale, Plots, Background Images, Annotative Text Styles.
Objective: Draw the Site in AutoCAD Civil 3D from the basic measurements taken from imagery. Learning basic ACAD commands and settings.
GIS, Site Design, and Survey Working Sketch
Objective: Establish a connection to GIS data and servers for preliminary design and add survey data.
Objective: Summarize site-design workflows and regulatory plan submittals, define CAD drawing setup for data management and plane coordinate system, configure drawing to geolocation aerial images to aid analysis.
Surfaces, Point Groups, Survey Points, and Topography
Objective: Build a boundary from survey data, compute points with coordinate geometry, and design and create a survey plat.
Objective: Make a surface from imported GIS survey data using linework codes and survey codes.
Objective: Make a surface from imported survey points using linework codes and survey codes.
Objective: Make a surface from imported LiDAR data using linework codes and survey codes.
Site Design, Dimensioning, Annotations, Linetypes, Blocks, Landscaping
Objective: Create site plan annotation, add easement table and annotation to drawing, add notes, leaders, display point groups, and create new layers for a design plat.
Objective: Learn to make and Add tree blocks to site plans.
Objective: Design and dimension a parking lot site and add to an existing drawing.
Grading
Objective: Design a pad and pond to a feature line with elevations and create a final grading plan on GIS data.
Objective: Design a grading plan for a Pad on TAMU campus by importing survey data for the design. Design Contours of site to a designed Finish Floor Elevation.
Objective: Design a grading plan for a parking lot, assign elevations, make a surface with a constant slope or series of slope, and create a final grading-plan for the parking lot.
Mid Term Exam Drawing
Objective: Draw existing survey of TAMU RELLIS Building and design 100 Additional Parking Spaces matching existing design in the empty northeast lot.
Isometrics and Visualization
Objective: Provide a complete three-dimensional description of a road by using alignments, profiles, and cross sections. Use ROW parcels, polylines, and arcs as a base geometry for interior roads. Create surface and design profiles in Civil3D
Objective: Design a 3D Headstone Model using the specification of the Upright Headstone in AutoCAD and place it at every location in a GIS.
Objective: Analyze a water drop utility that creates a 3D polyline object that runs downhill on a surface from any point. Use the information from the water drop analysis to calculate catchment areas, based on specified low points of the surface. Analyze a water drop flow in an isometric view.
Parcels and Parcel Map Design
Objective: Design Parcel using the guidelines provided in the City of Bryan Site and Development Guide for an RD-7 residential property.
Objective: Design parcel using the guidelines provided in the City of Bryan Site and Development Guide for an RD-7 residential property. Design residential parcels within the large parent tract.
Corridor Assemblies and Subassemblies
Objective: Create a complete 3D Corridor with contours, centerlines, and offset lines by applying an Assembly to an Alignments and profiles. Use Assembly and Subassembly Tool. Design a Corridor Plan and Profile Layout.
Final Project: College Station Elementary School Parking and Subdivision Design
Objective: Application of all tutorials, homework, and skills learned during the semester to complete set of site design plans for a grade elementary and a subdivision with given standards.
