about me
I am the Mary Julia and George R. Jordan, Jr. Professor of Public Policy in the Department of Economics at Texas A&M University, as well as the Department Head. I am also a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. I got my Ph.D. from the Department of Economics at Stanford University in 2009 and I graduated from Princeton University in 2002 with an A.B. in Economics and a certificate in Applied & Computational Mathematics. My research interests include investigating individuals' decisions - such as whether to make a charitable donation - and their reasons for making them.
My wife Jennifer and I got married in Seattle. Clearly the better half of the relationship, she graduated from Stanford with an M.B.A. and a Masters in Education and now works for IDEA Public Schools.
I was a member of the Princeton University Competitive Swimming & Diving Team. Some of my photographs can be found here. I enjoy cycling (both road and mountain), planting things (especially fruit and roses), experimenting with cocktails and infusions, and cooking.
