My name is Janae (Alexander) Bady! I am a first-generation college graduate, with a PhD in Health Education and two graduate certificates in College Teaching and Advanced Research Methods from the School of Public Health at Texas A&M University. Prior to my time at TAMU, I completed an MPH and BS in Community Health Education (Minor in Substance Abuse Disorders) at Central Michigan University. My research agenda focuses on social and academic environments, health behaviors and chronic disease risk/outcomes for Black students.
I currently serve as a Lecturer in the Division of Public Health at Central Michigan University. This role came on the heels of formally serving as an Instructor in the School of Public Health at Texas A&M University. For the past 7 years, I have developed skills in curriculum design and instruction, delivering culturally sound Health Education curriculum in safe, open-learning classrooms. My service endeavors are directly linked to my scholarship and focuses on advocacy and social action for students and underserved communities. To date, I've held leadership positions and membership across many renowned Public Health organizations (SOPHE, GLC-SOPHE,Eta Sigma Gamma, APHA, ACHA).
Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not tell you I am a proud, active member of the most illustrious organization, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc! I am open to collaborations for research, teaching, and service. Please use the networking tab above so we can collaborate!
