Dr. Giuseppe Palmese joined Drexel University in 2001 as associate professor with tenure in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, achieving full professor in 2005. He earned his BS in Chemical Engineering from Princeton in 1986 and his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 1992. Prior to Drexel, he managed a polymer manufacturing facility and served as a research professor at the University of Delaware’s Center for Composite Materials. At Drexel, he served as department head for 12 years, as Associate Dean for Finance, and for two years as interim dean of the College of Engineering. In 2018, he was named Distinguished George B. Francis Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Dr. Palmese’s research focuses on thermosetting polymers and biomaterials, composites and interfaces, and processing-structure-property relationships. Dr. Palmese was appointed Dean of the Henry Rowan College of Engineering at Rowan University, effective September 2021.
