Our Founding

F.R.E.E. Aggies was originally founded in 2013 as Pro-Choice Aggies. In 2015, the name changed to Feminists for Reproductive Equity and Education!

Since then, FREE has participated in numerous events on the local, state, and federal level.

Year-by-Year Events

2013: Planned Parenthood Generation Action Conference, Kill the Bill

2014: Take Root Conference*, The Vagina Monologues

2015: Planned Parenthood GenAct Conference, Campus counter-protest, Out of Silence: Abortion Stories from the 1 in 3, Safe Campus Act lobbying, first condom crawls and consent workshops.

2016: Supreme court rally against SB2, 100 Years of Planned Parenthood Celebration, Whole Women's Health Rally, Out of Silence, Denim Day with AETSA, The Vagina Monologues, Condom Crawls

2018: Condom Crawls, March for our Life protest, Consent Workshops, Trojan Consent campaign, Denim Day, Power of Pink Conference, Stand with Survivors Solidarity march

2019: Houston Women’s March, Roe v Wade Luncheon, AAUW Annual International Women’s Day Conference, Planned Parenthood Lobby day, Texas Leadership Summit*

2020: Women’s March 2020, Sex Work Decriminalization Campaign w/ YDSA, Stand with Black Women Campaign, AAUW Annual International Women’s Day Conference, MOVE Texas Party at the Polls, Abortion Funding Mutual Aid, #RacismAtTAMUFeelsLike

To this day, FREE Aggies continues many of these events and owes much of our current work and standing to all of those before us.

*While FREE has worked with URGE in the past, due to recent events we cannot morally continue to work with this organization. However, many opportunities are still available to our members through our other sponsors and our own organizing efforts.
