Undergraduate research aims to inspire and enable students to contribute meaningful solutions to environmental problems, fostering the next generation of environmental leaders and innovators. We have created two new programs -- Undergraduate Research Fellowship and the Student Enhancement Award-- to encourage students engage in the research enterprise.
The Undergraduate Research Support Award for Environmental Programs is designed to empower and encourage students to pursue innovative research projects that address pressing environmental issues. This award provides financial assistance to undergraduate students engaged in research within the fields of environmental science, policy, engineering, and related disciplines.
Key Features of the Award:
Recipients receive up to $1,500 in funding to cover research-related expenses, including materials, travel, and equipment, enabling them to conduct thorough and impactful studies.
Mentorship Opportunities: Awardees work with faculty mentors who provide guidance and support throughout the research process, helping to refine research questions, methodologies, and analyses.
Research Development: The award supports a wide range of research activities, from fieldwork and laboratory experiments to policy analysis and community-based projects, fostering a comprehensive approach to environmental challenges.
Skill Enhancement: Through this award, students gain valuable skills in research design, data collection, analysis, and presentation, preparing them for advanced studies or careers in environmental fields.
