Participate
We are currently seeking first-time mothers-to-be in their first trimester of pregnancy to participate in a study to better understand the naturally occurring changes in women’s brains across pregnancy.
Participation includes 2 visits to our laboratory: one each during the first trimester of pregnancy and at approximately 1 month postpartum. Each laboratory visit takes roughly 1 hour and will include an MRI scan. Each visit will also include completing a short (15-20 minute) set of questionnaires. Participants will be compensated $50 per visit and will learn more about studies of maternal development during pregnancy.
Contact us for additional details about the study (979-458-5726 or DOMELab@tamu.edu). We look forward to hearing from you!

We are no longer recruiting for the OTTERS study.
We are conducting an ongoing study of emotional development in mothers and infants across the first three years of life. Our focus is on exploring the various emotions that mothers and infants experience as they grow and change.
As part of our research, we record neural and behavioral responses during computer tasks and interactive games in our laboratory. Saliva samples are also collected to analyze emotional responses while ensuring that DNA is not examined in this study.
This study continues to follow families over the years, contributing valuable insights into emotional development in early life.
