The Built Environment Analysis and Modeling (BEAM) Laboratory within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University, is dedicated to advancing resilience and sustainability of the built environment through cutting-edge and multi-disciplinary research, spanning structural engineering and mechanics, control systems, robotics, sensors, and artificial intelligence. The fundamental focus of the research group is the study of dynamical ystems, whether it is structural response to extreme events, energy harvesting devices, or network-level emergent phenomena.

Prospective graduate students interested in joining the BEAM Lab are encouraged to email Dr. Najafi with a copy of their CV and a brief description of their subject area of interest. Undergraduate students who would like to get involved in research are welcome to reach out as well and are encouraged to enroll in CVEN 491, which offers an opportunity to earn honors credits while gaining hands-on research experience.
