SOLAR PROJECT PRESS RELEASE

On February 28, 2023, the Tamalpais Union High School District (TUHSD) Board of Trustees approved an agreement with ENGIE Services U.S. Inc. to design and construct solar photovoltaic canopies, electric vehicle (EV) car-charging stations and battery energy storage systems over parking lots at Archie Williams High School, Redwood High School and Tamalpais High School. When completed, these solar energy projects will provide TUHSD an average annual savings of $630,000 in energy utility expenditures. Pending State of California Division of State Architect (DSA) approval, construction at Archie Williams and Tam High will commence in Fall 2023, with a goal of having them fully operational by early 2024.   Due to soil conditions at Redwood, this project will commence during Summer 2024.  These solar projects are considered a ‘win-win’ for the district, both in terms of their environmental sustainability and financial benefits.
