- The Tree of Life map here is both complex and simple.
Why simple? Simple because you probably realise that the animals named and shown on the branches and main stem are only a few of the many species between each species on any branch.
Why complex? Complex because just getting to grips with species related to each other over millions of years is quite mind-boggling. In a way we can't perceive time in millions of time, nor can be perceive that species that seem very unlike each other are closely related.
- Spend time exploring and figuring the Tree of Life map. Start in different places....following the branching. Talk with a partner and ask questions?
Follow plant branches as well as animal species. Explore microorganisms that feature early on in the beginning of life. Talk about how these microorganisms are still central to life as we know it now.
Talk. Talk. Talk. Explore and discuss. Query and question. There is so much to explore.
