About Us

Opened in 2001 as a shared facility between Tāmaki College and Auckland City Council.

In 2021 the Centre reached the end of the shared agreement and the Centre returned to the College for sole use.

The College put in place efforts to ensure that Community Access remained to some extent.

Currently the Centre is home to the Tereora Academy, the Tāmaki Connect Trust, The Tāmaki College PE, Health and Services Academy.

In 2002 the Principal made public the naming of the Centre to reflect that of a former student, former College Trustee and long time servant of the Tāmaki Community, the Late John Cassidy.
