Open to General Public (at certain hours)
Opened in 2001 as a shared facility between Tāmaki College and Auckland City Council. The Tamaki College Community Recreation Centre Trust Board was established to operate the Centre.
In 2021 the Centre reached the end of the shared agreement and the Centre returned to the College for sole use.
The College has put in place efforts to ensure that Community Access remains to some extent.
Currently the Centre is home to the Tāmaki College Education Trust, the RISE Group Trust Board, Tāmaki College PE, Health and Services Academy.
In 2022 the Principal made public the naming of the Centre to reflect that of a former student, former College Trustee and long time servant of the Tāmaki Community, the Late John Cassidy.
