Good morning! I have 2 NEW scholarships available in the counselor's office! One scholarship is for students that will be attending an HBCU college or university. Thanks! - Ms. Cochran

• There is a new scholarship opening tomorrow - Dec. 3. It is the College Counts Scholarship. Students can go to www.treasury.alabama.gov

- go to the Savings Program tab/

- click on College Counts Schola/rship

- click on "apply for a scholarship"

- go to bottom of account login box

- click "don't have an account"

- create account

- apply for scholarship

PLEASE ask your seniors to do this during your 4th/5th period classes!!

• 10/3 - Let the seniors know Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union awards a scholarship every year, BUT they must have an account with them. If they open an account now, they will be eligible to apply for the scholarship in the spring! Talladega High students never get this scholarship because they don't have an account! There is a Coosa Pines on Hwy. 280 in Childersburg. There are also branches in Sylacauga and Pell City.
• 10/3 - Please announce to your seniors we have a new scholarship available. It came in today! See a counselor Thanks!
• 9/24 - Please ask your 4th or 5th period class if there is anyone that has NOT created their FSA ID. The seniors will need this to apply for FAFSA. If you will send me a list, Mrs. Dupree and I will try to get those completed tomorrow. Thanks!

• 10/17 - Good morning! Please help us get this information out to our seniors! The Coca-Cola Scholarship is open and the deadline to apply is October 31! They must go to the website to apply - www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org
• 10/21 - Good morning! We have a NEW scholarship now available! Please help us get the word out to the seniors. It is the Burger King scholarship. They may pick up information about applying from my office. Thanks!
• The Civilian Marksmanship Scholarship is now available in the counselor's office.
• PLEASE complete your FAFSA!!!! You must have a FSA ID to sign the FAFSA. If you need assistance, see a counselor.
• Nov. 4 - 8 is College Application Week Many colleges will waive their application fee this week!

• The next ACT is Dec. 14 Last day to register is Nov. 8 - midnight.
