Kramer FAQ for Opening of School 2020

• Is Kramer Elementary open to come to pick up forms, pay fees, etc?

  • Yes, the main office is open.

  • Fees can be paid online or you may deliver them to the main office in a sealed envelope.

  • Please include your child's name and grade level.

  • To get information or request an appointment, call 513-273-3500.

• I’m a student/family NEW to Talawanda, what do I need to do?

  • If you haven’t, call Central Registration at 513-273-3121

  • If you are in the system, fill out Final Forms.

  • If you are in the system and need a Chromebook, go to https://studenttalawanda.freshdesk.com/

• I couldn’t make it to the time to exchange Chromebooks, what can I do?

  • Email randm@talawanda.org or thompsona@talawanda.org

• Do all grade levels need to exchange their Chromebooks?

  • No. Only 2nd and 3rd graders need to swap Chromebooks.

• I’m having a problem with my Chromebook, what do I do?

  • Go to https://studenttalawanda.freshdesk.com/

• I don’t have any internet service, or have unreliable internet, and need a Hot Spot.

  • Email your child’s teacher or Mr. Merz- merzj@talawanda.org

• Are there some resources to help with training for Chromebooks/Ipad/Online Learning?

  • Tutorials will be available and linked here.

• I’m having trouble logging in to ProgressBook, or I need a login.

• What will the learning schedule be for the first semester while we are online?

  • The schedules are linked below:

    • Kindergarten

    • 1st Grade

    • 2nd Grade

    • 3rd Grade

    • 4th Grade

    • 5th Grade

  • The schedule will involve Synchronous (Live Zoom Sessions) and Asynchronous (Recorded Lessons) to support students in completing independent work. In addition, small group instruction will be scheduled at specific times with specific students. While attending the live learning sessions is best, we recognize that students may not be able to attend all live sessions during the day. Recordings of live lessons will be made available.

• Will the academic requirements be the same as they were in the Spring when we were online?

  • No. The content that will be taught, and the expectations will be much more rigorous than it was in the 4th Quarter. Teachers will be teaching new content, and students will need to follow the posted schedule, touch base with their teachers through office hours, or be in direct communication with their teachers. Teachers will have live sessions on Zoom, as well as continually updating and adding assignments to Google Classroom (2-5) and SeeSaw (K-1). Zoom lessons will be recorded for review at a later time.

• How do I find all my teachers’ Google Classroom sites and other online information?

  • The Kramer Remote Learning site will be live soon, and linked here.

• What supplies does my student need to start school?

  • Supplies will vary class to class, and the teachers will let students know. To get started, students will be fine if they have paper, pencils/pens, folders/notebooks, and their Chromebooks.

• How do I pay fees & IPAD/Chromebook Insurance?

  • Fees will not have to be paid at this time because we are beginning remotely. Instead, all students will be charged for IPAD or Chromebook Insurance. Insurance can be paid online at talawanda.org thru EZPAY or a check can be mailed to Kramer Elementary, 400 W. Sycamore Street, Oxford, OH. Please note that insurance cannot be waived. • Can I complete Final Forms now?

Yes, please update Final Forms before school begins. If you have moved, please contact Sara Roy (roys@talawanda.org).
