Aaron Sturgill is a Paraeducator at Maple Valley Middle School, THS Alum, and Percussion Educator. He believes in the value that music brings to student's lives through a myriad of experiences and life lessons.
After graduating from Tahoma Senior High School, Aaron went on to attend Eastern Washington University, earning a Bachelor's in Communication Studies and a Minor in Music. It wsa during this time that he was able to participate in several ensembles includeing the Columbians Drum and Bugle Corps, Impact Percussion, the EWU Drumline and EWU Percussion Ensemble. These ensembles allowed him to learn from Percussion Educators such as Craig Winter, Eliud Ayala Jr., Emmanuel Olaiya and Dr. Michael Waldrop, among many others.
Aaron currently lives in Maple Valley, WA. He loves his wife, 2 cats and Shiba Inu. He enjoys playing music as often as he can and plays shows at venues in the greater Seattle area.
Born and raised along the Space Coast of central Florida, Andrell started playing drums/percussion at the age of 12 and hasn't set down a pair of sticks since. His experience includes teaching and performing in a variety of percussive styles; including marching band, symphonic band, symphonic orchestra, jazz band, and pit orchestras.
While attending Florida State University Andrell was a member of the Marching Chiefs - Big 8 Drumline. After taking time to compete in the collegiate Model United Nations circuits in Tallahassee, Atlanta, New York City, and the Czech Republic he continued performing with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars “D-Line” drumline during their AFC Championship run in 2017 and is a current member of the Seattle Seahawks "Blue Thunder" drumline since 2021.
His approach in teaching drums is built on a solid rudimental foundation mixed with fun grooves and exercises to play with music. Anyone can learn to play if you put in the time - good news is it's usually a good time!
