The Tahlequah High School "Create Your Future" Careers curriculum is designed to develop and prepare students for their professional lives after graduation. Classes provide an opportinuty to learn valuable soft skills like communication, teamwork, and critical thinking that are paired with an experienced based Internship. Ultimately, students develop soft skills that can be applied in any career field  while  gaining real world work experience in occupations they would not otherwise have access to, opening doors to relationships and opportunities at the launch of their professional journey. 

Soft skills, also known as people skills, refer to a set of personal behaviors that allow people to interact effectively and thoughtfully with others. These skills are transferable and valuable in various professional and personal settings. At THS, classroom curriculum has been designed so students can learn how to identify, practice, and implement these skills into their daily lives through a variety of project based assignments that include reading children's books, creating podcasts, and elevator pitches. As a result students are able to self reflect on each project and incrementally improve their communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management abilities throughout the duration of the course.
