Privacy Policy
OnGlobe | Effective Date: June 19, 2026
Our Principle
OnGlobe is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you, and only you.
Your notes, coordinate data, and location titles are always encrypted, so they can never be shared or viewed by anyone but yourself. OnGlobe cannot decrypt or otherwise access the content of your locations. Local architecture is implemented for OnGlobe, so all data pertaining to what you choose to create and add stays local on your device.
What We Do Not Collect
OnGlobe collects nothing from you. No telemetry. No identifiers. No usage data. No location data. No behavioral tracking of any kind.
You are free to add locations, media, and notes within your own personal sandbox. None of that content is transmitted to us, stored on our servers, or accessible to anyone other than you. We do not posses the technical ability to access or decrypt any content you create in OnGlobe.
The only data associated with your use of OnGlobe is your App Store purchase, which is handled by Apple Inc. under their own Privacy Policy. OnGlobe receives no personally identifiable information on that transaction.
How Your Data is Protected
OnGlobe uses multiple layers of security to ensure your data remains exclusively yours.
Local Architecture: All data you create in OnGlobe, including locations, notes, coordinates, photos, and videos, is stored locally on your device. Nothing is transmitted to external servers. There is no OnGlobe cloud, no sync service, and no remote storage.
Encryption at Rest: Your notes, location titles, and coordinate data are encrypted using XWing hybrid key encapsulation combined with AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption. XWing combines a classical cryptographic algorithm (X25519) with a post-quantum algorithm (ML-KEM-768), protecting your data against both current and future cryptographic threats.
Your photos and videos are protected by iOS Data Protection (Complete File Protection), which renders them inaccessible when your device is locked.
Encryption Key Storage: Your encryption keys are generated on your device and stored in the iOS Keychain with the highest available protection class (kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlocked). Keys are inaccessible when your device is locked, consistent with iOS Complete File Protection. The XWing post-quantum algorithm requires software-based key storage, and the Keychain provides strong cryptographic protection enforced by iOS and the device's hardware security architecture.
Session-Based Decryption: When you unlock your device and open OnGlobe, your encrypted content is decrypted once in memory for your session. When your device locks or OnGlobe enters the background, all decrypted content is promptly cleared from memory. This cycle repeats on every unlock, ensuring your plaintext data is never unnecessarily retained in memory.
Automatic Key Rotation: Your encryption keys are automatically rotated every 90 days. All encrypted content is re-encrypted under new keys transparently, with no action required from you. A completely local implementation, triggered by date accordances.
