Intermediate level Pointe class for eligible Intermediate Ballet II and Ballet Ensemble members only. Entrance into this class is by teacher invitation only. This course is designed for the more advanced dancer who has mastered basic pointe technique and is ready to progress to more difficult steps as well as begin exploring classical repertoire.
In addition to regular class attendance, it is strongly advised that students enrolled in this class seek both ballet and pointe instruction elsewhere at least two other times per week. The technical demands of this class will require students to have strong feet and legs, which can only be maintained through a regular training schedule. Thus, this class is not intended to be a student’s sole form of pointe instruction each week, but rather a supplement to the training a dancer is receiving elsewhere.
During the spring semester, students will focus on performing a dance for the Spring Ballet performance.
